We all have favourite moments in games, whether they be alone or with friends. Normally, the single element that gets me going in either of these situations is competition.
The feeling of winning is one synonymous with competitive gaming and is one I’m keen to address in a live event. Having hosted live music evenings and friendly competition among friends I wanted to get some ideas of games that you would be keen to participate in and/or watch people compete against each other. Challenges are another part of this I would be interested in seeing; how long does it take to get to 5 stars in GTA for example, or longest manual in Tony Hawks are a couple of the mini challenges me and my friends set each other.
So, what would you have in your videogame olympics?

We’ve done something similar to this in the past. My personal favourite was one I cooked up for the other participants; a sort of GTA IV Triathlon.
The goal, start from a save point on the westernmost point of Liberty City, and be the fastest to reach the Ocean off the furthest runway on the eastern airport. The catch: you had to use three different methods of transport along the way, excluding taxi journeys and running/walking.
It was most awesome fun
I have to agree. The GTA thing was fantastic. Infact, we need to do more of this!
too true, competitions should be a regular thing, who says gaming isn’t a social media?
I concur, that challenge was awesome, especially as I won! But yeah we should do more gaming championship tourneys!
