I haven't played it but I have heard very good things about Masq (http://www.alteraction.com/). It sets up a scene for you, and from there you seem to have an extreme range of freedom.

There is, I think, a difference between the story that I played through in Planescape and the stories I have created in playing games myself. Planescape is still with me, I might go months without thinking about it, but I can guarantee that I will remember it when I'm old and senile. I'm not so sure about fighting through the hordes of the Infected.

I like books. A lot. The walls of my flat are pretty much mine and Katie's books, and I value a story that tries to have meaning or at least in which I see an attempt at meaning. So yeah, I'm a big RPG geek and don't value so much the emergent stories of other games. But I think that's the beauty of games, it can succeed in telling so many types of story that there is something for everybody.
